Dear Vogue, Tell Me I’m Beautiful:

Western Media’s Influence on Shaping Women’s Beauty Standards

Description:

I designed this magazine as the final product of my high school senior thesis, blending academic research with the visual and editorial style of a traditional women’s beauty magazine. My goal was to mirror the glossy, eye-catching appeal of popular publications—while using that same format to challenge the very beauty standards they often promote. I wrote all of the content and designed each layout in Adobe InDesign, allowing me to showcase both my writing voice and my eye for visual storytelling. This project sparked my interest in marketing and taught me how powerful—and personal—media messages can be. It’s also part of why I hope to create marketing that challenges, uplifts, and ultimately serves as a more positive influence on how people see themselves.
